The Logitech N200 with notebook fan is a good midrange laptop cooler that will fit most people’s needs without too many extra features.
The pad sports a 3 inch fan that has two speed settings available. It fits laptops up to 16 inches – so those with 17 inch notebooks will have to look elsewhere. It has a pretty sleek design that looks nice without being too flashy. It is a shiny black that will match well with most notebooks.
The pad also has a front lip bumper that helps to keep your laptop from sliding forward while in use.
Additionally the pad is very portable – it is lightweight and the USB cord is stored inside so you don’t have to worry about it dangling around everywhere and getting wrapped up on something.
This is actually the first cooling pad I bought for my 15.5 inch Sony Vaio. What first attracted me is the simple design. I didn’t want anything too fancy and it looked good with my notebook.
When I first got to college I used my laptop for everything – gaming, watching movies, schoolwork and anything else I needed to do (well to be honest I still use it for all things!).
This meant I was often times working with a scorching hot laptop that was extremely uncomfortable to use in my lap or anywhere near my bar skin. The Logitech N200 definitely does the job when it comes to chilling down my laptop.
Just a few minutes after switching on the N200 (at its lowest speed setting as well) my notebook was noticeably cooler. It actually reduced the temperature enough that my computer’s internal fans never had to turn on!
This had me very pleased, so I cranked the fan setting to highest to see what it could really do. At the highest speed setting it cooled my computer down enough that the entire case was cool to the touch – even while playing Civilization 5 for hours on end!
Plus the fan was whisper quiet – I forgot it was still running while using my laptop! Another feature of the N200 I really like is the USB powered fans. It’s very convenient because the cooling pad can easily go wherever your laptop does, keeping it cool anywhere.
The power consumption of the N200 is very low even at max settings. You should have no problem using your laptop for the normal charge time without too much power being drained by the pad. That said it does drain some power while attached to the computer – even when on idle.
This isn’t really a big deal though because the power consumption is so low and you can just turn the pad off if you feel like you need to save power. All in all I would have to say this is a great laptop cooler for a good price.
It has a stylish design without being overly flashy and gets the job done when it comes to cooling down your computer. The few gripes I had – the idle power consumption and my laptop occasionally sliding around – are overshadowed by the cooling ability, portability and quiet fan.
Give this pad a try – you won’t be disappointed! The N200 can be found here at a great price.
